Unemployment insurance (UI) also provides financial support for employers. The following compensation is paid out directly by the responsible unemployment insurance fund:
Short-time working compensation
Short-time working refers to a temporary reduction or complete suspension of work at a company, whereby the contractual employment relationship remains in place. This is usually for financial reasons. Short-time working compensation (STWC) therefore offers an alternative to the risk of redundancies.
Bad weather compensation
Bad-weather compensation (BWC) offers an appropriate level of salary replacement for weather-related work stoppages for employees in certain branches of industry.
Insolvency compensation
In the event of an employer becoming insolvent, insolvency compensation (IC) covers employees’ open salary claims for a maximum of four months. In principle, IC may only be claimed for work that has been carried out.
