Job registration requirement

On 8 December 2017, the Federal Council agreed on how to implement the Act for Implementing the Article of the Constitution for Managing Immigration (Art. 121a of the Federal Constitution) at ordinance level.

Here you can find the ongoing, up-to-date information on the job registration requirement that has applied since 1 July 2018.

Execution of the job registration requirement:
On 1 November 2019, SECO published its first implementation monitoring report on the job registration requirement. The report concluded that employers were satisfying the registration requirement and that implementation overall was legally compliant. The second implementation monitoring report on the job registration requirement bears this out. SECO has also commissioned four evaluations looking at the impact and implementation of the job registration requirement during its rollout phase. SECO’s second monitoring report and the four evaluations were published on 14 June 2021.
