Registration

Register and take advantage of the digital services offered by work.swiss!

User registration

User registration through Job-Room is required to obtain full access to all the digital services available through work.swiss.

To make access to the IT services of the unemployment insurance scheme (ALV) even more secure, registration will now take place via the ALV’s “Identity Access Management” system (IAM ALV). IAM ALV protects and regulates access to the IT services and the data contained therein.

For employers and private employment agencies, the switch to registration via IAM ALV took effect on 20 March 2023. For job seekers, the switch to registration via IAM ALV is at the planning stage. More details will be provided in due course.

In order to be able to carry out a reliable and secure identity check and to allow a person to be uniquely identified, the AHV number must be entered when registering via IAM ALV. The use of accounts that cannot be uniquely identified must be refused for security reasons. Reporting jobs under the job registration requirement does not require registration and can be done directly on Job-Room.

What the switch to registration via IAM ALV means for the various user groups and details of what they need to do to be able to continue to use the digital services of the work.swiss portal without any interruption can be found in the information below.

Employers and private employment agencies

What is changing with registration via IAM ALV?
The switch to registration via IAM ALV will allow companies to issue their staff directly with access permissions for Job-Room in future. The roles available for this in IAM ALV are “main administrator” (this needs to be confirmed by the company by means of a special power of attorney) and “administrator” and “user”. Each company needs at least one main administrator who will issue the necessary permissions or roles to further members of staff as necessary (see instructions below).

How will the switch to IAM ALV be carried out and what needs to be done?
For employers and private employment agencies that have actively used Job-Room in the six months prior to the switch, the existing data will be taken over from Job-Room to IAM ALV when the switch takes place. The accounts in Job-Room will therefore continue to exist and after registering in ALM ALV (see instructions below),  the digital services can continue to be used by all persons within the company who have the necessary permissions. By 31 March 2024 at the latest, however, the company must have checked its roles and issued confirmation of its main administrators by means of a special authorisation. This authorisation must be uploaded to IAM ALV. Operating on a staggered basis, SECO will invite the executive management of these companies that have been active in Job-Room in writing to complete and upload the corresponding authorisation for the role of “main administrator”. If this is not done by the required date, the account will be revoked with effect from the end of March 2024 and the company will have to re-register if necessary.

For employers and private employment agencies that – at the time of the switch – have not actively used Job-Room for more than six months, no data will be taken over from Job-Room to IAM ALV. Their account will therefore be deleted when the switch is made and they will have to re-register via IAM ALV from 20 March 2023 to be able to use the services on Job-Room again.

When they register via IAM ALV for the first time (see instructions below) companies will be issued with a one-time password and sent an authorisation. Companies will be asked to complete the authorisation and upload it to IAM ALV. A few days will be required in order to check the authorisation and assign the role of “main administrator”.
